PDF cannot be viewed

Paul Shields May 20, 2013 06:11AM EDT

I am looking for a bit of guidance. We use imageman to upload and view pdf documents. It was supplied and developed by a third party company which no longer develops with imagman so is unable to help.
The problem is we can load pdf's but there are a few that cannot be displayed.
It appears to be caused by the pdf files strip tags.
These pdf files tags are enclosed in less than and greater than brackets.
I not sure what version of Image man was used it appears to be 32. imtwain2.ocx imact33.ocx Imfx32.ocx plugin32.ocx
Any ideas on how to fix this error would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello,

If indeed your app is using imact33.ocx then its not using our PDF Import Addon for display as that was introduced in the Version 8.xx ImageMan code and the imact33.ocx is from our Version 7.xx product.

Can you tell me the name of the 3rd party company that developed the product you are using and I can see what they have purchased from us.

Thanks,
John

Hi ,

The company was GTX. It became Sword and is now Kana.
The screen was built into their crm ciboodle system for scanning in documents.

Hi,

Sorry I didnt find any company with any of those names in our database so I cant really tell what they have,. Again, if its really the imact33.,ocx then they are not using our PDF Import so there wouldnt be anything we could do.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean

Hi Sean,

I know it's not really your problem and thanks for the response.
I just trying to get a clue on how to fix the error.

I have been digging around and found an ImageManCustom.msi install instruction. The instruction say it's ImageMan ActiveX Suite version 7.30
Does this help to narrow down what has been installed.

Thanks Paul

Hi Paul,

As I mentioned if they are using the ImageMan Version 7.x code then its not our PDF importer they are using as we only introduced that with version 8.;xx of ImageMan.

Sorry we couldnt be of more assistance,
Sean
