Faxes not being received, but FaxManJr says it was successful

Todd Davis May 08, 2015 02:51PM EDT

One of our clients is experiencing a problem where FaxManJr returns no error code, so our application marks the fax as successful, but the receiving party didn't actually receive it, or they say they didn't receive it. The client wants us to make sure that FaxManJr requires a group 3 confirmation before assuming success. I'm not sure what this means. We are using the following INIT string
AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&K3S0=0

And we are using Class 2.1

Is there something I need to change to make it require a Group 3 confirmation? Or is it already doing this?

Hello,

With Class 2.1 the modem firmware implements the fax protocol which will include confirming receipt of each page. In the event a page fails and is not able to be transmitted the modem should return a Non zero hangup code.

What version of Jr are you running ?

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean
