Setting License-Key via program

Dirk Rasmussen Jul 24, 2013 08:04AM EDT

Dear Support-Team,

is it possible to set the license information by program?
Since a long time we use your Image Manager ActiveX (V 8.60) together with Gupta-Team-Developer V4.1 but when migrating our program sources to a newer version of Gupta-Team-Developer (V 6.x) the embedded license information always getting lost ( Your Trial Dialog appears ) and can so far only be restored by re-inserting the concerned ax-objects. Because we develop for the two TD runtime environments in parallel (continuous migrating ...) this "repairing" of the license-information is very tedious.

Any help is appreciated!

Kind regards
Dirk

Hello,

Sorry the ActiveX controls use the standard Microsoft ActiveX licensing model and have no option for setting the License key in code.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean

The ActiveX still has dependencies on the ImgMan81.dll. Can I possibly accomplish this with a parallel call of a DLL function?

Hi,

Sorry the licensing for the OCX is in the *.ocx files themselves not the DLL...

Thanks,
John

So? Really? But how can it be that the license information - after migrating to another system development (see above) - is lost, although the same ActiveX files are used?

Hi Dirk,

Thats a function of the ActiveX container. for some reason the Gupta stuff must be losing it. Sorry but frankly we do not have many users with Gupta these days.

As you surely know, Gupta has included a certain (older) release of your ImgMan8x.DLL in their Runtime - but the ActiveX not yet.

Yes, Gupta was/is a customer but they do not expose the DLL interface and that has no connection top their support for ActiveX controls unfortunately.
