Recommendations for running FaxMan with Multitech MT9432 modems in a virtual PC

Wendell Lovewell Jan 12, 2012 12:38PM EST

The application installer I've used with my FaxMan doesn't seem to work under Windows 7 64-bit. I'm wondering if you have any experience using the MT9432ZBA modems in a 32-bit virtual PC, either Microsoft's "XP Mode" or VMWare or VirtualBox products.

I think I would need to install the Win2008/Win7 32-bit modem drivers on the 32-bit virtual PC, and possibly the 64-bit drivers on the first-level Windows 7 64-bit system. Do you have any advice for getting FaxMan and MT9432 modems to work in a virtual system?

Hi Wendell,
I assume you mean the MT9234ZBA modems. We have done some testing with serial based modems under VMs but have had mixed results. We would not generally recommend running FaxMan under a VM.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.
