ImageControl on Active Reports 2

Gerardo Hernandez Sep 23, 2015 08:34PM EDT

I'm evaluating ImageMan ActiveX library in order replace Pegasus ImagXpress control in all our VB6 applications. The first of them uses Active Reports 2 (from DataDynamics) to print data and images stored in an .sdf database. I was able to place the ImageMan control (ImageControl) on the Active Report details and run the report, but the image is never displayed (just the background).
I tried loading from memory and setting the 'Picture' property directly.

Please let me know and I will provide the sample project.

Thanks for any help you may provide us.

Hi,

If you can send us the sample we'll be glad to have a look, pls send to support@data-tech.com. Note that Active Reports Version 2 seems to be rather dated, arent they at Version 9 now ?

We'll need to see where we can get the Version 2 install/trial for testing.

Thanks,
John

John, thanks for your prompt response.
I found a workaround for what I need, although I would like to know what you think about it:
I added an VB6 image control to the report and after loading the image from memory to the ImageMan control, I have the following:

imgVb6.Picture = imageMan1.VBPicture

So the picture is displayed in the image control but not in the imageMan one (although the bytes are loaded in it).

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi,

That workaround will work but there does cause a memory hit since the image has to be loaded twice, for most images probably not an issue but if you are loading large images then it might be a concern.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean
