Mixed Mode Assembly

Faxman & .Net v4.0 - 'useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy' not working for service Aug 26, 2013 02:51PM EDT

We're getting the 'mixed mode assembly' error with our application. The system works fine as long as we launch from an application. We would like our server to run, though, as a service. All of the real interactions live in a code library (class) in their own project.

Our forms based server application passes a reference to the FaxMan object across at startup, and the library code uses that object fine.

When we set up a service referencing the same module, however, we get the "Mixed Assembly" error. I've tried generating the FaxMan object both in the service and in the library. I've added the "useLegacyV2" option to the app.config in the library, but this doesn't seem to help.

Any idea where to go next?

Thanks -
Mike

Hi,

You would need the useLegacyV2 attribute in the exe/service not in the library.

Let me know your serial # via email (support@data-tech.com) and I can email you a link to the next build of FaxMan which includes .Net 4 assemblies.

Thanks,
Sean
