Intermittent (No Response to MPS signal)

Manuel B. Aug 26, 2013 03:05PM EDT

Hi,
We have about 33% of our faxes that goes No Response to MPS signal and No Response to EOP signal. I checked for hardware control flow, initString (ATQ0V1E0&R2) and class (1 and 2.0) and I did not found why it still happening...

We have U.S. Robotics Courrier V. Everything EXT PnP (V90-x2).

We send many faxes to a pool of almost 20 recipients not in same time.

Any tips or hint?

Thank you

Hello,

The No Resp to MPS indicates that the sending fax device didnt get a response from the remote fax after sending a page. This can be due to line noise, line quality or flow control type issues.

Make sure you or the receipient are trying to fax over VOIP lines, you really need a analog phone line aka POTS line for reliable faxing.

Also we would recommend a better modem such as the MultiTech MT9234ZBA USB model which is a more reliable modem that also enables Error Correcting Support (ECM) and supports faster 33.6K faxing.
