I have licensed ActiveX PDF import and export controls and I have been using these for a couple of years but have never been able to resolve this question.
I want to import a multipage PDF that is mostly scanned black and white images however there are some large format colour images.
By setting the colour depth to 24 and the attr PDF_COMPRESS to FLATE I can export all pages to single page PDFs and all are good quality but the sum size of the single pages are approx 5 times the size of the original multipage file.
What I would like to do is find the colour depth of each page in the original file then set attrs to save that page out as if was originally produced (typically 1 bit black & white).
Do you have a sample for VB6 that demonstrates how to read the individual page properties within the original multipage file and set appropriate attrs to apply to the 'SaveAs' funtion, this keeping the single page files as small as possible?
As ever you help is much appreciated.
At this time there is no way to know what the required color depth is for given PDF page. We have requested the ability to do this from our PDF technology provider but they have not yet implemented such a feature. Should they do so then we would be able to provide this capability.
Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.
