Recommended class & init string for IQ Express modem

Todd Davis Oct 20, 2012 05:39PM EDT

What is the recommended class and INIT string for the Mainpine IQ Express modem card? With no class or INIT string specified, we experience a high number of "timeout during send/receive" and other communication errors. However, when we set
.Class = 4'=2.1
.DeviceInit = "AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&K3S0=0"
our client reports that some of their clients who use fax software, such as FaxCore, do not receive the fax, even though FaxMan reports successful delivery.

Hello,

Class 2.1 and the "AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&K3S0=0" init are the recommended settings for the IQ Express cards with FaxMan. Its very unlikely that FaxMan and the modem will report a fax sent and it not have been sent as the way the fax protocol is designed the received has to acknowledge each page sent.

You could try leaving Class1=1 and just using the init string.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean
