Using FaxMaxJr with MultiTech modem through LavaLink Ethernet device

Todd Davis Dec 04, 2012 03:09PM EST

One of my clients is running my software with FaxManJr on a VM. They are using a MultiTech MT9234ZBA modem attached through a LavaLink Ethernet to Serial adapter device. I am using the INIT string
AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&K3S0=0
However, most of the faxes are failing with the error "No Response to Command". I suspect it is related to the LavaLink Ethernet device. Do you have any experience with this device? Do you have any suggestions for what I can do to make it work?

Hi,

As the MT9234ZBA modems are a modem we recommend I would suspect the Lavalink device. We have not tested or used one of those devices nor heard of anyone else using them.

You can try using Class 2.1 with the modem and see if that helps, if not I would suggest elininating the LavalLink from the setup and see if that works better.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean
