Saving a vector image (WMF) from clipboard to a raster format

Luiz Miranda Jan 11, 2013 03:03PM EST

Hi!

I need to get a vector image from clipboard (WMF), and then save it as a .JPG file.

ImageMan help says that I can't save a vector image in a raster format, and I need first convert it to a raster one.

But how can I do that ?

Using ImageMan 8 in a VB6 environment

Thanks in advance

Luiz Miranda

Hi,

Sorry we dont have any sample code for this but its doable if you are willing to call some Windows API functions,

Basically the steps would be to create a Bitmap in an Image control of the desired size using the CreateBitmap method.
Then get the hDC for the image and then play the metafile into the Device Context.

Then you can save the image using the SaveAs method.

You'l basically need some Windows API code to get the Metafile Handle from the Clipboard and then play it to the DC.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean
