Imageman prompting an error message when the PDF is encrypted

Jordi Corbilla Mar 28, 2013 06:05AM EDT

When converting PDF files to TIFF and the PDF is encrypted, the component is prompting a message like:

'C:\mypath\myfile.pdf' has been encrypted, please decrypt it first!

Is there any way to get round this message?

I don't want this message to be displayed and I would prefer an exception to be raised by the component so I could inform the final user.

I would appreciate any comment as this is critical for our product.

Hi All,

Apparently I can't send encrypted files.
Could you please create a blank page PDF file and use the online free service http://www.pdfprotect.net/ to generate the same pdf file with a password protection?

I have followed those steps and I got the same results with the same message.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,
Jordi

Hello,

I have checked this but confirmed that we do not display any dialog box when trying to load an encrypted/password protected PDF file. We return an exception to the application which can then decide how to handle the failure.

Thanks for your interest in our products and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sean

Hi Sean,

What version are you testing this on? In 8.74 the issue still exists.

I will try to upgrade to 8.80 if this is the case.

Jordi

Hi Sean,

Does my license for 8.74 covers 8.80?
