FaxMan4 - Windows 7 - Run As Administrator required?

Roger Mar 29, 2013 07:23PM EDT

I have an application with FaxMan4 SDK (4.1.2.0) that automatically gets installed as part of the app. Support for this app is no longer available.

This works perfect on Windows XP as a standard Windows user account.

On Windows 7, the only way c:\windows\system32\FaxMan4.exe will start is if I right click on it, select "Run as administrator" and enter an administrator's username and password. Clearly this is a permissions issue of some type for this component, however running process monitor doesn't show the issue.

Is there any way to get FaxMan4.exe to work on Windows 7?

Hello,

FaxMan server must run as admin as it requires certain permissions to create a global object. Very early versions of the exe did not include this is the manifest. You can download the latest build from your account on the my products page on our website.

Thanks,
